ISO-41001:2018 is an international standard for FACILITY MANAGEMENT
The difficulty to create a management system for their daily tasks was one of the greatest issues facility managers told us about. However, ISO 41001 addressed a gap that had been left open for a long time due to the lack of a standard or a list of best practises for Facility Management. ISO 41001 is officially known as “ISO 41001: 2018 Facility Management — Management Systems — Requirements and Guidance for Use.” These are the greatest practises in the business, and they are the best bet for meeting the difficulties of a future in which the only certainty is enhanced competitiveness.
ISO 41001:2018 Facility Management is a multidisciplinary standard that aims to improve the productivity and efficiency of economies in societies, communities, and organizations, as well as how people interact with the built environment. Through the services it administers and delivers, FM has an impact on the health, well-being, and quality of life of many of the world’s cultures and populations. Thus, ISO 410001:2018 is an organizational function that integrates People, Place, and Process within the built environment in order to improve people’s quality of life and fundamental business efficiency. ISO 41001:2018 was created for organizations that incorporate or operate facilities management systems and want to implement the new standard into their operations.
The standard was created to recognize the facilities management market’s rapid development and increased complexity. It is not sector-specific and is designed to apply to all companies or parts of companies, whether public or private, irrespective of its size, character, or geographic location. ISO 41001:2018 should be applied so that an organization:
As a result of these advantages, businesses can become more cost-effective and gain a better reputation among customers and business partners. Organizations that get 41001:2018 certified demonstrate that they have an effective facilities management system in place.
ISO 41001:2018 specifies standards that are non-sector specific and intended to apply to all organisations, or sections of them, whether public or private, and regardless of the kind, size, and nature of the organisation or geographical location.
Facility management can be divided into two types: hard and soft.
Hard facility management is concerned with the organization’s physical components, such as its space and infrastructure.
It protects both the employees and the customers. It has to do with occupational physiology and psychology at work.
Facility management is one of the most rapidly expanding professional and operational fields, and it requires worldwide consistency. That’s when ISO 41001:2018 can come in handy.
The international standard for a Facility Management (FM) system is ISO 41001:2018. It provides a framework for developing, implementing, and maintaining successful facilities management in a variety of industries around the world.
