ISO 29990:2010 is an international standard for LEARNING SERVICES FOR NON-FORMAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING
ISO 29990 (Learning services for non-formal training and education – Essential criteria for service providers) is a global standard designed to improve transparency and enable global comparisons of learning services. It serves as a single alternative for the vast array of national service and management standards that now exist in the area of non-formal education. The ISO technical committee ISO/TC 232, Learning services for non-formal education and training, developed the first standard, SO 29990:2010.
Non-formal education and training providers must consider the success of training by fully understanding their customers’ expectations, which necessitates increased interaction with both customers and delegates. They must analyse, monitor, and enhance their competency to deliver high-quality services by routinely monitoring the effectiveness of their customers while understanding and providing training services to match their customers’ expectations.
ISO 29990:2010 is broken into two sections: learning services and learning service provider management. This is the first international standard for learning providers that is both valid and applicable.
ISO 29990:2010 specifies the requirements for a Quality Management System for educational and training service providers. ISO 2999:2010 establishes a global standard for learning service providers such as businesses, vocational schools, and life-long learning centres. It encourages the creation of appropriate services and the assessment of learning outcomes. The goal of ISO 29990:2010 is to establish a generic model for learning service providers’ quality professional practise and performance in the development and delivery of education and training.
To ensure that its implementation leads to continuous improvement, the standard follows a process-based framework. The ultimate goal of the standard is to ensure the deployment of high-quality tutorial programmes and procedures.
